ShopPrentice Studio is a furniture design studio: you (or an AI agent you connect) design pieces, and the studio builds them, draws the shop plans and works out the cut list. This page says what we keep to do that, why, and for how long. Short version: we keep what you make so you can come back to it, we keep a little about how the site is used so we can fix it, we never sell any of it, and we show no ads.

What we keep, and why

WhatWhyHow long
Your account — your user name, the email address you sign in with (or typed for an invite), and the picture you choose for your profile, if any. To sign you in, keep your work yours, and reach you about your account. While your account exists.
What you make — projects, the design scripts that build them, their saved versions and settings, sketchbook pages, the photos and pictures you upload, making-plan notes, and comments you post. It is your work: the studio stores it so you can open, change, build and share it. While your account exists. A project you delete disappears from the site at once; we keep it out of sight for 30 days, so it can be brought back if you deleted it by mistake, and then erase it for good.
Chats in the studio — what you write to the studio's own assistant (Shop Talk) and its replies, with any pictures you attach. So a conversation picks up where it left off. While the project exists.
Connected AI agents — the sign-in tokens an agent you approve gets, and the names and timings of the tools it calls (never what it sent them). To let the agent work on your behalf, and to see what went wrong when a call fails. Sign-in tokens: 7 days, renewable for 30 days of use; you can cut an agent off at any time on the Connect page. Tool names and timings: only your last few calls, in memory, gone when the server restarts.
Problem reports — text an agent or you send with “report an issue”. So we can fix the site. 1 year.
How the site is used — which pages are opened and which buttons pressed, counted with an anonymous visitor code that changes every day (made from your internet address and browser, which are not stored); and how long builds and tool calls take. To see what people use and what is slow. Page counts: about 13 months. Build timings: 30 days in detail, a summary for about 13 months.
Abuse checks — the internet address a new account or a waiting-list sign-up came from. To stop people making accounts in bulk. 90 days.
Waiting list — your email and the note you leave. To tell you when there is room for you. Until you ask us to remove it, or you join.
Payments, if you buy credits. Stripe handles the payment on its own page; we keep only what you bought and when. We never see your card number. As long as tax and accounting rules require.
Backups of all the above. So a broken disk does not lose your work. Each nightly backup is kept 14 days, so something erased above is gone from the backups 14 days later.
